As mentioned in his first ever Newsletter, to Alain, "running a business" has never meant "just making a living". Making a difference to those who are not as fortunate as we are has always been important to him right from the beginning of his involvement with Nepal in 1979. The Tibetan Refugees and Nepalese craftsmen who are producing rugs for him are doing extremely well and manage to keep their traditions and skills alive. But it is not just about rugs, as you can well see from the varied stock of wonderful arts, crafts and artifacts on display in the galleries.

Alain Rouveure Nepal Relief Fund and Charitable Works Since he started more than 30 years ago Alain Rouveure has been able to help and make a difference to many projects and people, especially children in Nepal. He is personally involved with the health and education of one little boy and of two small girls from disadvantaged backgrounds. But as he always acknowledges, this help could never be given without the support, sales from the galleries and some donations from friends and clients. The Alain Rouveure Nepal Relief Fund has been specifically set up
to accept contributions from well wishers and supporters also wanting
to make a difference.
During his twice yearly visits to Nepal Alain monitors the different projects
and makes sure that 100% of the donations received are spent directly
where they count, without one single penny spent on "admin".
