Alain Rouveure's knowledge and passion for the Himalayan Traditions have grown since his first visit in 1979.
A keen collector, his personal acquisitions are very impressive.
The fast disappearance of traditional items from every day life is one of Alain’s main concerns.
As they are a testimony of a culture through the ages, he finds it essential to preserve some of the best examples for future generations.
Amongst his Collections are Dancer's Masks (over 500 so far, making it one of the largest collections in private ownership), antique Textiles from remote areas of Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan, extraordinary ancient Lamas and Shamen Dresses and Ritual Artefacts.
They are regularly exhibited in Paris, Venice, Milan and Switzerland.
Alain plans to open a museum in Nepal, where he firmly believes these Collections belong.
